Assi Rose

Gypsy Accordion Teacher,
Music Producer,
and Live Performer

Since 2007, when I began teaching on YouTube while living in San Francisco, I have been sharing my passion for Gypsy Accordion through unique and innovative methods. My teaching style is inspired by the old-world “father-to-son” approach—loose, intuitive, and deeply connected to the music’s roots. I’ve also developed a highly effective notation sheet system that makes learning faster and more accessible. With this method, students can quickly read scores and master new songs. I teach a rich variety of music, including world music, traditional tunes, famous classical compositions, Gypsy jazz, Balkan melodies, tango, Arab, and Sephardic songs. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced player, my tutorials offer an exciting way to explore and grow your accordion skills.

As a producer, I craft music with people I meet around fires or in sacred circle ceremonies across the globe. Honoring shamanic traditions, diverse cultures, languages, and mythologies, I join with fellow musicians to create moments of magic. Some of this magic is captured live, shared organically to foster a deep connection with the family and community, holding a vibrant frequency of love and togetherness. Other pieces are recorded in the studio, undergoing meticulous production for various expressions—ranging from DJ remixes to healing, nature-inspired soundscapes. Each creation carries the essence of organic rhythms and the pure acoustic energy rooted in shamanic traditions.

About Assi Rose

Assi Rose began his musical journey as a pianist at age 7, and later, at 12, expanded into accordion under a Gypsy Russian teacher, learning diverse styles like Polka, Tango, and Swing. This broadened his approach to improvisation and composition, making music more exciting. During his teenage years, he explored various instruments like the saxophone, guitar, flute, and ukulele.

Rose eventually became a professional musician, composing and producing music. He graduated in Jazz & World Music from Goldsmiths University of London and spent 15 years traveling, learning local music styles from around the world. He later developed his own music teaching method, “Quick Melody Technique” (QMR), making music learning simple and accessible for all levels.
